In life’s sea of emotion and tales, singer-songwriter Heather Richards is a musical creator for a recipe of broken hearts, adventures, and real life experiences. The upstate NY artist has voyaged her share of life’s delights and pains-mostly lessons of the heart, and contrary to her lessons, she’s grasped even the most bittersweet of remembrances and brought them to life through her songs.

Richard’s infectious style successfully intertwines traditional country, contemporary country, folk, inspirational, rock and modern country respectively and brings forth to its audience a simplistic connection. Heather’s songs are a joy for their clarity and understanding and so swiftly flows from the song to the listener. She is not your average recycled cookie cutter, in fact, all of Heather’s music comes from her own struggles, heart and pen, making her an Artists Artist in the truest sense of the definition. Perfecting her own special style throughout the years, heather’s music reflects a style of innocence and simplicity that also appeals to the commercial ear. You won't find heather forcing her way through the competition forgetting the true meaning of music along the way. Her sense of style seems to be refreshing to those who hear her sing.

Her career first started when her parents introduced her to bluegrass festivals at an early age running from campsite to campsite learning how to sing with the guidance of seasoned pickers and players. Throughout her school years, almost all of her time was spent singing with her parents band on weekends playing the local clubs, country and bluegrass music associations. Right out of high school she joined an already established professional country/rock band, but after a few years Heather decided to head off to Nashville and venture into a new avenue of becoming a solo artist promoting her own original music. She’s had some success to tell in a tale or two such as one of her original songs hitting the hot 150 indie and major label charts together and number 23 on the independent charts and playing on such stages as the Bluebird Café in Nashville TN and Gilley’s in Las Vegas.

Richards is no stranger to the music business and her traveled road including living in Nashville for three years doing demo work has helped her to develop a stronger business sense but she admits her creative side blooms more when she is home.
She has also learned some things the hard way, but needless to say, she always dances back.

She grew up with loads of talent running through her family history. Her great grandmother Mary Antin wrote the book “The Promised Land” which is used as a reference in most colleges and is in the Encyclopedia Britannica and Antin also traveled alongside President Theodore Roosevelt speaking about her book. Antin was also known to entertain with her beautiful voice in her time to the prestige, actresses, and actors. Her great grandfather Amadeus Grabau who was married to Mary Antin was considered the Professor of Geology in China and is also featured in the Encyclopedia Britannica. Heather’s parents Jack and Rose Richards have also entertained the Adirondack area for years and still continue to entertain singing traditional country music. Her grandfather Daddy Dick Richards had one arm and played the fiddle, upright bass, and guitar and was considered a pioneer within the Northeast Region and was featured in the national magazine Adirondack Life and received a pioneer award from Necma in 2001. Heather occasionally sings gospel with her family consisting of five other brothers and sisters along with her parents.
One of Heather’s Motto’s: “Never forget those who have helped you along the way,”

Heather’s music is a taste of Sunshine pleasing crowds from 0-100 with her sweet vocals that warm the heart! She has been compared to Karla Bonoff, Carole King, Linda Rondstat, Kathy Mattea, Trisha Yearwood, Sarah Mclachlan, Patty Loveless, Cheyrl Crow, Gillian Welch, and Patty Griffin.
